:O This picture is so unbelievably well done and detailed, I can't even express it in words! Honestly, this looks like the kind of image I would expect to see in a field guide to use as a reference. You have such an amazing talent for drawing/painting, I'm completely jealous, I can't draw even simple things D:

Also, may I ask, is there an actual bird like in in real life that you based it off of, or did that color scheme just appeal to you?

No problem :la:
And really, that's a robin? Huh, I wonder if it belong to the same family as the robin we have over here in America? Because they certainly look very different from one another!

I think they might. I know Europe and America don't agree on most things (like time scale or measurement), but usually when it comes to animals, the international community agrees on species type, soooo... I would assume the European and American robins would be related in some way! :) Hey, speaking of robins, I've just had a random question I'd like to ask you. Here in America we have an old legend that Spring has come when you spot the first robin. Do you have any myth/legend like that with the European robin over in Finland? :3

yeah, that's true :)

we don't have a one from robin, but we have this old poem to predict the arrival of summer from birds: (my translation is not the best, but you'll get the point :'D) it says: a month to summer when you see a lark, half months from a finch, a little bit from a wagtail, not a day from swallow :)

Huh, that's interesting! Does it usually follow that trend, fairly closely? I mean, I'm sure it's not exactly like that, but animals tend to know the seasons internally better than we do, especially birds since they migrate. So, seems to me that maybe those birds do follow that poem fairly closely in their patterns? :)

well roughly yes think, larks for example really are one of the first birds to return, but there are quite big differences when the birds arrive, and it sure wasnt' summer when i saw this year's first swallow xD
